A: Women first attended the University of Tennessee in 1804. The first women admitted were Jenny Armstrong, Barbara Blount, Mattie Kain, Kitty Kain, and Polly McClung. UT was one of the first coeducational colleges in America. Women started being regularly admitted to the University of Tennessee in 1893.
