Student Health Center: EverlyWell COVID-19 At-home Collection Kit

The Student Health Center (SHC) has partnered with the Tennessee Department of Health to make COVID-19 testing readily available to faculty, staff, and students of the university through use of the EverlyWell COVID-19 At-home Collection Kits. An appointment is not needed to pick-up a kit at the SHC. There is no charge for the kit and the results are available typically within 48 to 72 hours of sample submission.

However, in order for the kit to be successfully utilized, patient education is a must. Each individual receiving a kit is provided brief instructions on its use and are guided to educational handouts and an informative video providing step-by-step instructions on how to successfully perform the self-collection and prepare the sample for submission via an expedited mail-in process. Access to useful COVID-19 Patient Education resources are also provided.

Reports from students using the EverlyWell Kits have been overwhelmingly positive:

“I was afraid of getting the sample, but after seeing the video and reviewing the EverlyWell infographics, it wasn’t as big a deal as I thought it would be.” – A.T.

“Just followed the steps in the video to obtain, package, and send in the sample. It was easy.” – C.W.

“I got my results back after just 2 days. Appreciated the results getting texted right to me.” – J.S.

“The links to the patient handouts were really useful. Helped me to understand what to watch out for.” – A.W.

The EverlyWell Kits will continue to be available through the SHC throughout the Spring 2021 semester.
