Q. The oldest building on campus was built in 1872 as a residence hall. What was the name of the building? 

A. South College was the third building built on UT’s campus, built as a residence hall. The first two buildings, East College & West College, were opened in 1838 and then razed to allow the construction of Ayres Hall.
